This paper summarizes the results of a systemic review of transfer research between 2010 and 2021. Despite limited empirical evidence that specific policies and practices promote transfer student success, the literature suggests several improvement strategies and areas of concern. The authors conclude with five recommendations institutions should implement to better support transfer students as they navigate the transfer maze.
