In the weeks leading up to NISTS 2024, we're highlighting the transfer stories of this year's National Transfer Student Ambassador award winners. All four students will attend the conference in St. Louis and participate in a student panel conversation. You can read more about Crystal's story and meet the other 2024 ambassadors on the NISTS Blog.
NISTS 2024 National Transfer Student Ambassador: Crystal Ramos
In this pre-conference conversation, Crystal describes her transfer journey from Palo Alto College to Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She shares what it was like to transfer after a twenty-year break to work full-time and support her family. Crystal was interviewed by NISTS 2024 Curriculum Planning Committee member Tanaya Dempsey from Arizona State University.
About the interviewer: Tanaya Dempsey has been working at Arizona State University for almost 10 years. As the Director for Academic Transfer Credit Solutions, a department within the Provost office, my role is to oversee new transfer initiatives, the evaluation of undergraduate transfer coursework (domestic, in-state, international, and Global Education), building transfer pathways with partnering institutions and organizations, research transfer policy solutions, and maintaining the Transfer Guide (tcg.asu.edu) to provide exceptional service to the ASU community.
